The recent redrawing of ward boundaries means that a small number of the polling stations that voters have been using for years will no longer be suitable.
The council has had to comprehensively revise the polling district and polling station structure to ensure that, under the new arrangements, all electors in the borough have reasonable facilities for voting – and the council is asking voters to have their say.
The changes to ward boundaries, made by the Local Government Boundary Commission, were approved on 23 November, following a 40-day scrutiny by Parliament, and will come into effect at next May’s local elections.
The council is now conducting a review of the borough’s polling districts and polling places. The review period runs from Friday 8 to Friday 29 December and full details can be found at www.croydon.gov.uk/polling-districts-places
Any registered elector in Croydon may make representations to the council. Representations will also be considered from anyone who has particular expertise in relation to access to premises or facilities for persons who have different forms of disability.

“An important thing to bear in mind when suggesting a venue is ease of accessibility, and the facilities available, for anyone with mobility problems; and I’d encourage anyone making representations to suggest alternative polling districts and places where appropriate, and to give reasons for the alternative.”
Representations must be received by 5pm on Friday 29 December 2017.
