A tenant who made her neighbours’ lives “hell” during six years of antisocial behaviour has been booted out of her flat.
A three-month closure order was granted on Tuesday 30 June by Croydon Magistrates’ Court for 50 Woodville Road, Thornton Heath, a ground-floor flat located in a block of 16.
The court heard that the behaviour of tenant Michelle Taylor and her visitors had caused continued upset for neighbours since 2009.
They reported drug use, people being drunk and disorderly, verbal abuse to other residents, loud parties, fighting, shouting, screaming, and vandalising of the security door.
The disturbances continued day and night, with visitors to flat 50 ringing on her neighbours’ door bells and knocking on their windows.
This year, in a seven-week period covering March and April, the police attended the property on 25 occasions to deal with antisocial behaviour.
The closure order means nobody can enter the premises for three months.
“Life must have been hell for the neighbours who had to put up with Michelle Taylor and her friends’ behaviour.
“The number of times the police had to attend in just two months alone shows the scale of the antisocial behaviour we’ve managed to finally put an end to.
“It is simply not acceptable, and we will always take action in cases such as this. I now hope that the people of Woodville Road can move on from this and live their lives in peace.”
