Croydon Mile raises thousands for Sport Relief 2016

Almost 200 people turned out for Sport Relief on Sunday 20 March at the Croydon Sports Arena in South Norwood.

As well as a series of mile races there were games and raffles to help generate more cash for the annual Sport Relief charity event.

The money raised will add to the £15,000 collected through similar events held at the sports arena over the past few years.

The main race was started by Councillor Timothy Godfrey, cabinet member for culture, leisure, and sport.

Cllr-Godfrey“We had a fantastic turnout of people of all ages and abilities, and I’m sure this will prove to be the best year yet for money raised for this worthwhile charity. The facilities at the arena are really excellent, and I hope the event also encourages more people to take advantage of them on a regular basis.”
