Croydon PrideFest and ZEE Croydon International Mela – just one week to go!

Only a week remains before Wandle Park hosts two days of free music, dance and celebration, with Croydon PrideFest taking place on Saturday 14 July, followed by the ZEE Croydon International Mela the following day – both supported by Croydon council.

On the Saturday, PrideFest will begin with a parade along North End from 11.30am, followed by live music and entertainment all afternoon and evening, with a dance tent open until 10pm.

Confirmed acts include Channel 4 star Asifa Lahore, and singer songwriter Christopher Haul.

There’ll be a further day of colour, music and dance on Sunday 15 July, with the second annual ZEE Croydon International Mela from 1-8pm, bringing together international acts, local artists, family fun and the delicious Tastes of Asia food market.

Headline acts confirmed include British singer-songwriter Arjun performing alongside London Mozart Players with orchestrations by Fiona Brice, YouTube hit Zack Knight, as well as rising star EZU from South London.  Local partnerships will play a big part in the day’s programme, such as Croydon-based dance company Beeja presenting a fantastic programme at the Bandstand, and Apsara Arts’ area of performance and activities for families and children.

“I’m really looking forward to the Croydon International Mela this year. It is an opportunity to celebrate our diversity and the different cultures that make up Croydon. It is also an opportunity for many people to enjoy one of the boroughs finest parks. I hope to see you there!”

Councillor Oliver Lewis, cabinet member for culture, leisure and sport
