Croydon remembers the victims of the Paris massacre

Croydon joined with towns and cities across Europe at 11am on Monday 16 November to remember and commemorate those who lost their lives in Paris over the weekend.

The town hall flag remains at half-mast following the minute’s silence, and a book of condolence has been opened so that those who want to add their names can do so.

tony newman condolences“This atrocity in Paris has once again brought the reality of terrorism and war very close to home. On behalf of everyone in Croydon I would like to send our deepest condolences to the families and friends of the victims and echo the many calls for peace and tolerance that are currently resonating around the globe.”
Councillor Tony Newman, leader of the council

Twelve students and two teachers from Riddlesdown High School were on a trip in Paris at the time of the attacks but have all returned safely over the weekend.

The book of condolence is available to be signed inside the Town Hall reception in Katharine Street.
