Croydon’s digital revolution will improve services for residents, communities and businesses

A new website, improved resident engagement and a better connected borough are the top priorities of the council’s new digital strategy, set to transform residents’ lives.

Approved at Cabinet last night, the strategy will revolutionise how the council operates online, making it easier for residents to connect and engage with the council, as a brand new website begins replacing the council’s current one by March 2020.

The council also pledges to support more residents to get online and access the internet, combating digital isolation and improving connectivity for communities. Residents and businesses will also benefit from new superfast broadband.

New digital services will be designed in collaboration with residents and service users to make them as intuitive as possible with frequent reviews to improve and constantly refine the service.

By building on existing business networks and supporting business-to-business relations, Croydon will be transformed into a key location for digital growth in London.

“These are exciting times for Croydon. Transforming our digital offer will radically improve how we interact with residents and they interact with us.

“More and more people use online as their first point of contact and we’re working hard to make sure the services they want to find there are available.

“We’re also dedicated to helping more people get online so nobody is left behind in this digital revolution and continue to push Croydon as one of London’s foremost digital destinations.”
