A campaign to tackle air pollution is challenging Croydon to make an environmentally-friendly pledge as part of a national day of action.
Clean Air Day is on Thursday 21 June and draws attention to the dangers of high pollution levels and how everyone has a role to play to help tackle the problem.
Croydon Council is organising a week of action to highlight the issue and support residents, commuters and businesses to make a change.
The pledges can be anything from catching public transport to work, walking children to school, leaving your car at home or anything else that makes a difference.
Two drop-in sessions have been organised where you can find out more about Clean Air Day and the importance of improving our air quality. The first will be at Surrey Street Market between 11am and 2pm on Monday 18 June.
The second drop-in session will be at Croydon Central Library on Katharine Street from 11am to 2pm on Tuesday 19 June.
There will also be a presentation on idling vehicles followed by a chance to talk to Croydon Council air quality officers at Bernard Weatherill House on Thursday 21 June.
The event gets underway at 6.15pm and finishes by 8.30pm. It is free to attend but places should be booked in advance.
