Millions more books on offer through Croydon’s libraries

Croydon’s library members now have access to a catalogue of more than six million books and a host of other items as the borough joins a national partnership.

Croydon’s libraries have joined The Libraries Consortium offering members free access to millions of books from more than 200 libraries as well as audiobooks, ebooks and IT facilities.

There are more ways than ever before to access the collections with a new My Library App. It allows users to browse the full consortium catalogue, reserve items and get them delivered to the nearest library and renew loans.

“Our 13 libraries have so much to offer throughout the entire year but by joining the Libraries Consortium we can offer our members a lifetime supply of books and other items.

“By working with other councils across London and beyond we’re working to give our members an unparalleled experience.”

Councillor Oliver Lewis, cabinet member for culture, leisure and sport

Since bringing the service back in house Croydon Council has embarked on an investment programme to improve and refurbish all 13 of the borough’s libraries.

You can find out more about becoming a member at any of Croydon’s 13 libraries or join online at www.croydon.gov.uk/leisure/libraries

The My Library App can be downloaded from the App Store and the Google Play Store free of charge.
