Along with the rest of the nation, Croydon will observe a one-minute silence at noon today to honour those who tragically lost their lives on a Tunisian beach one week ago.
Staff and visitors to the Town Hall, authority headquarters building Bernard Weatherill House, and council libraries and offices across the borough, will spend the time in quiet contemplation of those who died and the loved ones they left behind.
A book of condolence has been made available in the foyer of the Town Hall, in Katharine Street, for all to sign.

“The events of last Friday were beyond terrible, and appalled everybody.
“The minute’s silence and our book of condolence are marks of the respect in which the memory of the victims is held by the people of Croydon.
“We have strong communities across the borough and if any good is to come from this tragedy, I hope it’s that the bonds of our communities will become even stronger and show that the actions of terrorists are deplored and will not be tolerated.”
