Addiscombe has been announced as the next location that will benefit from a blitz clean as part of Croydon Council’s Cleaner Croydon campaign to restore pride in the borough.

The three-week tailored blitz clean will see the Council’s blitz squad complete a series of activities to improve the area and fix issues. It is a key priority for the Executive Mayor of Croydon, Jason Perry to create a cleaner, and more inviting environment for residents and businesses.

Feedback from residents and businesses has tailored the intensive blitz clean, which includes replacing old street signs and bollards, repairing damaged footways and refreshing road line markings.

Graffiti and fly-posting – stickers from lamp posts and windows – will also be removed and teams from the Council’s trading standards will be offering support and advice to local businesses.

Residents are encouraged to get involved and support the ongoing maintenance of the area by reporting issues such as fly-tipping, graffiti, and any environmental issues on the Love Clean Streets app, or directly on the Council’s website.

“The blitz cleans in Norbury, Thornton Heath and New Addington have made a really positive impact in each area. I’m looking forward to working with residents and businesses to improve Addiscombe and make locals proud of their great high street.

“Clean streets are an essential part of creating safe, welcoming spaces where residents and businesses can thrive. We can all do our bit to look after where we live. The Council clears 98% of reported fly-tips within 24 hours. I encourage anyone who sees fly-tipping or other environmental issues to report them.”
