Sports fans across the borough are being offered the chance to see world-class athletes in a world-class stadium at hugely discounted prices.

Under the offer, a family of four could attend the IPC World Para Athletics Championships, between 14 and 23 July, at the London Stadium in Stratford’s Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park for less than £25.

Tickets for what is being billed as the biggest global sporting event of the year are being discounted to £9 per adult (over 16) and £3 per child. Residents are allowed to purchase up to nine tickets using a discount code that will automatically reduce the price of their tickets when they reach the website’s checkout page.

Tickets can be purchased now at the championships’ ticketing site. The discount code is LON2017.

The offer is available for all sessions with the exception of sessions six and eight, the two mid-week morning sessions, scheduled for school parties. Residents will be required to print their tickets at home.

Stephen Tate, the council’s director of district centres and regeneration, said: “This offer represents a brilliant opportunity for the people of Croydon to join other Londoners in coming together to recreate the golden summer of London 2012, celebrating all our city has to offer at what is, without doubt, one of this year’s major sporting events.

“I very much hope that our residents take up this offer and get along to enjoy some fantastic sport in a fantastic stadium.”
