Dear Chairman,

Congratulations on Crystal Palace’s historic European triumph

On behalf of Croydon, I want to offer my heartfelt congratulations to everyone at Crystal Palace Football Club on winning the 2026 UEFA Conference League Final.

As a proud Palace supporter, season ticket holder and Executive Mayor of Croydon, I know just how much this moment means to both the team and the fans. A year on from that unforgettable FA Cup victory at Wembley, Palace have now made history again by winning the club’s first-ever European final.

This is an extraordinary achievement. It belongs to the players, the manager, the coaching staff, everyone working behind the scenes at the club and, of course, the supporters who have stood by Palace through every high and low.

Crystal Palace is more than a football club. It is part of the story of South London. It is woven into the lives of families, schools, businesses, community groups and generations of supporters across Croydon and beyond. Selhurst Park is one of the great homes of English football, and Croydon is immensely proud to be its home.

That is why Croydon Council would be honoured to work with the club to help deliver a victory parade and civic celebration here in Croydon.

This would be a chance for supporters of all ages to come together and celebrate an extraordinary achievement in the place the club calls home. It would allow the people of Croydon, and the wider South London Palace family, to show their pride in the team, the manager, the players, the staff and everyone who has helped take the club to this historic moment.

For Palace fans, this would be more than a parade. It would be a moment in history. A chance for children who have grown up watching their heroes at Selhurst Park to see them bring a European trophy home. A chance for long-standing supporters to celebrate a journey many could only have dreamed of. A chance for Croydon to come together around something joyful, positive and deeply rooted in our community.

CPFC are the pride of South London. This trophy belongs in the hearts of Palace fans everywhere, and Croydon would be proud to help the club bring that pride home.

Once again, congratulations to everyone at Crystal Palace Football Club. You have made history, and you have made Croydon and South London proud.

Yours sincerely,

Jason Perry

Executive Mayor of Croydon
