Council nears 200 fly-tipping and littering prosecutions

A council clampdown against fly-tippers and litterers has now reached 196 successful prosecutions after the latest case on Tuesday 27 March.

At Croydon Magistrates’ Court, Andrew Mthunzi, of Brighton Road in South Croydon, was ordered to pay a total of £480 for littering a black sack and a cardboard box in Brighton Road on 7 September 2017.

As part of its Don’t Mess With Croydon – Take Pride campaign against fly-tipping and littering, the council has prosecuted 196 people in court, seized over 30 vehicles suspected of being used to store or dump fly-tipping, and signed up 345 community volunteers who lead litter picks.
