Croydon Council has appointed Mike Jackson as its new Interim Chief Executive. Mike brings extensive experience of leading large local authorities and driving organisational improvement.
Mike most recently served as Joint Chief Executive of Richmond and Wandsworth Councils, overseeing services for more than half a million residents. Prior to that, he was Chief Executive of Bristol City Council, and he has held senior roles in the civil service.
The appointment will help provide stability, momentum and leadership as the Council continues the recruitment process for a permanent Chief Executive.
Mike will join Croydon Council in August and will serve in the role for around six months, pending the appointment of a permanent Chief Executive.
His appointment was unanimously approved by the Council’s cross-party Appointments and Disciplinary Committee, chaired by the Executive Mayor.
