Croydon Council is now working with Croydon Health Services to offer free Covid-19 vaccinations from one of its repurposed testing vans which is popping up at various locations across the borough.
In partnership with South-West London Clinical Commissioning Group and Croydon Health Services NHS, Croydon Council began the vaccination van programme on Monday 4 April.
Introduced at the end of December, the testing vans were supporting communities that found it hard to access Covid-19 lateral flow tests (LFTs), such as residents with a language barrier or no access to technology.
As free lateral flow testing ended last week, the partnership has repurposed the van for vaccinations, helping communities with the lowest vaccination rates to get vaccinated and protect themselves.
The vans are offering all doses of Covid-19 vaccinations, 1st, 2nd or booster and there is no appointment needed. If you have any concerns or questions about the vaccine, the Keep Croydon Safe champions will be available for you to chat to.

Rachel Flowers, director of public health for Croydon, said: “It is still really important to get vaccinated against the Covid-19 virus. Getting vaccinated is your best defence from becoming seriously ill from coronavirus.
“All adults are now eligible for their Covid-19 booster, provided it has been at least three months since their second jab. People can visit a vaccination van, walk-in centre or book via the National Booking Service.
“I want to say a big thank you to our KCS champions, who continue to keep our borough safe every day. You have already helped thousands of residents stay safe and continue to work, day in day out, to ensure our community has the best protection against the virus.”
