More than 150 events to help promote business in Croydon have taken place over 2018, Croydon’s Year of Business.
Now the borough is gearing up for a major summit to explore Croydon’s economic future.
The Economic Summit at Box Park on Thursday 22 November will see guests hear from a host of special speakers.
The Year of Business was started to help small and medium businesses thrive in Croydon. These businesses, with fewer than 250 employees, make up 99% of the businesses registered in the borough.
“The year of business is all about helping companies in our borough thrive, offering them the support and opportunities they need to fulfil their potential.
“Croydon is open for business and by helping our community make the most of the town’s unique opportunities we will help the borough achieve its ambitious goals.”

Croydon Council has offered reduced business rates to help create two hubs in the town, and worked with partners Croydon Business Network to make it simpler for businesses to access quality business advice and increase productivity and growth. They have also helped fill 315 vacancies over the year through Croydon Works.
The summit, which takes place one month before the Year of Business draws to a close will see special guests including the Head of Economic Forecasting & Stress-testing Economics at the Royal Bank of Scotland address guests.
