Eid-ul-Adha message from the leader of the council

“I would like to send my very best wishes to Croydon’s Muslim communities on the occasion of Eid-ul-Adha.

Eid-ul-Adha is the second most important festival in the Muslim calendar and follows on from the Hajj pilgrimage. Traditionally, it’s an opportunity for people to come together to celebrate but also reflect about how we can help others less fortunate than ourselves.

This is also a chance for people from across our community to celebrate together. It is also a time to pause and reflect on what we can all do to help those less fortunate than ourselves within our own community, but also elsewhere in the world.

“I wish you all well, in celebrating this joyful occasion and would also like to wish a safe journey to those residents who are going to Hajj this year.”

Councillor Tony Newman, leader of the council
