A teacher recruitment fair for Croydon schools is taking place at Fairfield Halls, from 10am – 1pm on Saturday 6 February.
The event is an opportunity for teachers to find out about the opportunities currently available in schools across the borough and is aimed at people who are new to the profession as well as experienced teachers looking for a move. It has been commissioned by the Croydon Headteachers’ Association (CHTA) and is organised by the Octavo Partnership, the company set up by the council to provide support, services and staff development to schools across the borough.
“People decide to become teachers so they can make a difference to the lives of young people. That is this council’s ambition too, so we welcome any great teacher who wants to consider working in a Croydon school.”
Councillor Alisa Flemming, cabinet member for children, young people and learning
The Chair of CHTA, Gordon Smith, said: “Ours is a wonderful borough in which to work, and the young people of Croydon deserve the very best teachers. This fair will attract colleagues from across the region and demonstrate the quality of the opportunity that a teaching career in Croydon can bring. The partnership work between Octavo and CHTA to put on this fair demonstrates our shared determination to deliver excellence in our schools and colleges.”
Fairfield Halls are just a five minute walk from East Croydon station, which can be easily reached by rail, trams or bus.
