All are invited to join firefighters from London Fire Brigade (LFB) and learn about fire safety and the role of the brigade in keeping Londoners safe.

Hosted in partnership with Croydon Council and the LFB, the fire safety day – 30th November, 1 – 3pm at 1-87 Regina Road – is a chance to meet local firefighters, ask questions, and get advice on keeping yourself fire-safe.

The event is part of Croydon Council’s ongoing efforts to improve fire safety across the borough and follows a successful fire safety training event held earlier this month at the tower block.

The current vacant tower block at Regina Road provides a good opportunity for the council to support LFB with training opportunities especially in response to lessons learned from the Grenfell Tower fire. By practicing in real high-rise buildings, the fire brigade will be better prepared to respond to emergencies in Croydon and across London, helping to keep residents safer.

The event details:

Date: Saturday, 30 November
Time: 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM
Location: 1-87 Regina Road, Norwood Junction, SE25 4TW (nearest train station – Norwood Junction, 5-minute walk to site)

“Fire safety is a priority for Croydon Council, and we want to make sure that everyone knows how to stay safe in their homes. With 1-87 Regina Road currently vacant ahead of demolition early next year, it provides an opportunity for LFB to carry out essential training to help keep Londoners safe.

“The open day provides a chance for us all to meet our local firefighters, hear about the work they do, and how we can all keep ourselves fire-safe.”

Jason Perry, Executive Mayor of Croydon
