Greater number of Croydon children receive offers for their preferred secondary school

This evening, Croydon pupils starting Year 7 received their offers from secondary schools ahead of the new school year in September.

This year, 91% of children received offers from their top three preferred schools.

There was also a 3% increase from last year in the number of children who received their first preference school.

Offers were sent to parents and carers on the evening of 1 March.   Online applicants will be able to view the outcome of their application as well as accept/decline their offer by logging on to their eAdmissions account during the evening of 1 March. Offers must be accepted or declined by Friday 15 March 2024.

Croydon has the largest population of children and young people under age 19 in London and receives many applications each year.

This year there was a total of 4,498 on-time applications and the council made sure that every pupil who applied was offered a secondary school place.

“I’m really pleased to see that so many children in Croydon have received one of their preferred choices. I want to wish the pupils and their parents and carers all the best as they continue their journey into secondary school.

“I’m proud of the work our schools do to enhance the learning experiences of our young people and the role they play in our communities. Parents and carers continue to apply to Croydon secondary schools and place their trust in them to provide the best possible education and opportunities for children and young people.”
