February half-term starts next week and the council is working with partner organisations across Croydon to ensure there are a number of free activities to help keep children and young people engaged during the school holidays.
Our youth engagement team will be running morning and afternoon activity sessions on Wednesday 16 February at the Samuel Coleridge-Taylor Centre, South Norwood, and Thursday 17 February at the Fieldway Centre, New Addington. Each day will feature a range of activities including music production and DJing, dance, arts and crafts and sports. For the football, why not come along and show off your skills on Friday 18 February at the Fieldway Centre with morning sessions for ages 8-12 and afternoon sessions for ages 13-18.
All young people must be registered with the youth engagement team in order to take part in the activities. Registration is quick and easy by filling out this form.
Over at Reaching Higher, young people aged 8-16 years are being encouraged to try something new during the half-term for free with RH Hangouts. From rounders and multi-sports to athletics, drama and creative arts, there is plenty of opportunity to step out of your comfort zone and make new friends. Legacy Youth Zone, Croydon’s largest youth space has it’s holiday club running all of half-term week for ages 8-12 years. To book, visit the holiday club webpage.
As with previous school holidays, the council has made arrangements to ensure that those receiving free schools meals will continue to be supported over the break with vouchers for meals.
