Following today’s government announcement, from midnight tonight Croydon, like the rest of London, will be subject to tighter Tier 4 restrictions with the planned relaxation of rules for Christmas cancelled.

As we head towards the Christmas holiday period, the Covid-19 situation in Croydon remains extremely serious, with a 77% increase in cases in the last week alone.

Croydon Council has formally submitted a request to the government for a capitalisation direction to support the borough’s plans to become more financially sustainable.

From midnight tonight Croydon, like the rest of London, will be designated a Covid-19 Very High Alert level area and subject to Tier 3 restrictions.
