Croydon Council steps up support for rough sleepers during cold weather
The Severe Weather Emergency Protocol (SWEP) was activated today in Croydon to help rough sleepers during freezing weather. SWEP is a London-wide emergency plan run by the Greater London Authority (GLA).
Croydon Council prosecutes trader selling vape to child
Croydon Council has successfully secured a conviction of the proprietor of a vape shop in Brigstock Road, Thornton Heath, for selling a vape to a child during a test purchasing exercise.
Council launches programme to support care-experienced young people into work in 2025
Next year will see the council offer a new paid training and work experience programme to help care-experienced young people aged 18-24 gain skills and confidence – and gain a valuable first step towards a career in local government.
Wellesley Road underpass closed for public safety
The public underpass under Wellesley Road in Croydon has been temporarily closed owing to recent fire damage caused by antisocial behaviour.
