Residents are being reminded to continue to use Croydon’s parks responsibly ahead of the Easter weekend.
The borough’s parks and green spaces remain open for the public to use for their daily walks or to exercise in, but playgrounds, outdoor gym equipment and sports court are closed to help prevent the spread of coronavirus.
Some car parks are also closed as residents should only be visiting parks and green spaces closest to them and not travelling unnecessarily, in line with government advice.
Whilst in Croydon’s parks all visitors should be keeping a minimum of two metres away from other people and dogs should be kept on leads to avoid unnecessary contact with other park users.
Over the bank holiday weekend, the council’s neighbourhood safety officers will be visiting the borough’s parks and open spaces with Croydon police to help keep everyone safe.
“Thank you to everyone who used our parks sensibly in the warm weather last weekend, and I’d also like to thank the neighbourhood safety officers and local police for the vital part they are playing in keeping everyone safe.
“We’re doing everything we can to keep our parks and green spaces open for residents to enjoy and ask everyone plays their part in that by continuing to be responsible and following the guidelines.”
