Street Live finale offers up a mix of dance, music, markets and a new vibe

Street Live goes from strength to strength as September arrives with more live music, street dance and the highly-acclaimed Made In Croydon street market, bringing the High Street to life.

Delivered by Croydon Council and Croydon BID, Street Live has been transforming the High Street area into a hive of activity for all ages throughout the summer, offering something a little different for shoppers, diners and passers-by.

September starts in style with the ever-popular Made in Croydon – High Street Makers’ Market on Saturday (1 September), celebrating some great designers, artisans and manufacturers who are inspired by living or creating in Croydon.

Busk Stop returns for aspiring musicians to grab the mic and take to the stage on four evenings in September (7, 14, 21 and 28 Sept), bringing together talented artists and ambient tunes from all over.

Then on the weekend of 8 and 9 September, the High Street welcomes back a double-bill from creative arts performers Scanners Inc.

On the Saturday, The Bridge+ Disco will be performing with Marawa the Amazing & her Majorettes, bringing the funkiest sounds, roller skating Majorettes, hula hooping, performance and dancing fun.

The next day brings The Bridge+ Jazz re:freshed, featuring the freshest vibe and dance with jazz fusion choreographer Gary Nurse.

“Thousands of people have visited the High Street so far this summer, to enjoy the warmest of weather with the coolest of sounds. The weather won’t last forever – so I encourage everyone to take advantage of the final weeks of Street Live.”

Councillor Oliver Lewis, cabinet member for culture, leisure and sport

Matthew Sims, chief executive of Croydon BID said: “Street Live has brought together such a wide range of entertainment for all ages to enjoy this summer, and it’s far from over. From the Made in Croydon market to Scanners Inc. and The Bridge, we are welcoming everyone to eat out, tune in, step up – and try it.”
