Surrey Street’s popular Sunday market is returning next month and new traders are invited to apply for pitches.
Similarly to last year, the Sunday market will run 10.30am to 5pm every week and to avoid competition with the regular market, its offerings will differ to those available Monday to Saturday.
Instead, the Sunday market will focus on street food, homemade and artisan products such as breads and cakes, vintage goods and arts and crafts. Pitches cost £15 and are inclusive of mains electricity supply and waste collection.
The return of Sunday market trading will be celebrated with a launch event which will take place on Sunday 17th September from 11.30am. ‘Little Canada comes to Croydon’ celebrates the 150th anniversary of Canada and will bring stalls of Canadian street food, Canadian craft beer, cocktails and whiskies and live music to Surrey Street, alongside the new and regular Sunday market traders.
A programme of regular events is planned to coincide with Sunday trading at Surrey Street, and future events include an entrepreneurs’ market and Christmas markets as the festivities draw near.

“Re-launching the Sunday market gives small, independent traders the opportunity to capitalise on Surrey Street’s reputation and I hope new traders take up this offer to bring a wealth of varied products and produce for Croydon residents and visitors alike to buy and enjoy.”
