A week-long crackdown on fly-tipping in Norbury saw more than 30 fines issued as part of the council’s award-winning Don’t Mess With Croydon, Take Pride campaign.
Between Monday 13 January and Sunday 20 January, 33 fixed penalty notices were handed out for fly-tipping and having unlicensed skips or other waste blocking seven roads including Northborough Road, Hatch Road and Newlands Road.
A further 19 cases could still lead to fines as investigations are followed up.
Council officers carried out high-visibility patrols after residents contacted the council reporting issues including fly-tipping and anti-social behaviour in their neighbourhood.
As part of the week of actions officers also carried out more than 30 inspections for companies that produce, store or transport rubbish to make sure they were disposing of waste correctly. Businesses who do not dispose of waste properly could face a fine.

Fly-tips can be reported through the council’s Don’t Mess With Croydon app, powered by Love Clean Streets and available through both the App Store and Google Play Store.
