This week parents, carers and pupils across Croydon received their secondary school offers ahead of the new school year in September.
For yet another year, the amount of pupils being offered a place at one of their top three secondary schools remains very high at 87 per cent.
Almost two thirds, 65 per cent, of pupils were offered their first choice preference in another encouraging round of admissions.
Parents continue to value Croydon secondary schools – 88 per cent of which are rated by Ofsted as outstanding or good – with consistently high applications across the board. For this round of admissions, the council’s schools team processed 4559 applications in total.
School offers for the 2022-23 academic year are available for parents or carers via their eAdmissions account – they have until 15 March to accept offers.
“We’re delighted that the vast majority of young people have received their top preferences again this year. We are lucky as a borough to be home to schools that are not only rated as good by Ofsted but also play a vital role at the heart of our communities to support children, young people and their families. I am proud that families continue to choose Croydon’s secondary schools.
“The pandemic caused some disruption to the education of our children and young people and I’m glad students can start getting excited to join secondary school in September.”
