Croydon Council has been successful in its bid for £1.1m government funding which will help residents keep their homes warm and save on energy bills.
110 council homes in Waddon are set to benefit from insulation works, new external doors and windows, mechanical ventilation and better radiator controls to improve their energy performance and reduce carbon emissions.
Homes selected for the project are solid wall properties built in the 1930s and known to be hard to heat in winter.
The funding comes from the government’s Department for Energy Security and Net Zero, for improvements to future-proof homes for more sustainable heating and reduce carbon emissions.
Local businesses could also benefit with local tradespeople completing the works, boosting local employment and the economy.
