Event to celebrate Croydon’s year of business and the borough’s entrepreneurs

A lunch to celebrate Croydon’s entrepreneurial community and the work of Croydon Council during the year of business in 2018 takes place at the end of the month.

Croydon’s small and medium-sized enterprises (SME), which make up 99% of the borough’s businesses, are invited to the lunch on 27 February, at Croydon College. The event will celebrate the borough’s SME successes and look at the support the council provided during the year of business, which will be continuing throughout 2019 and beyond.

Speaking at the event will be London’s Deputy Mayor for Business, Rajesh Agrawal, who will talk about the work the Mayor’s office is doing on behalf of the London business community, and Andrew Bauer, Chairman of the Small Business Commission, who will be providing an update on the work of the group, which explores the barriers to, and opportunities for, growth for Croydon’s SMEs.

The lunch will also provide businesses with the opportunity to network, connect, collaborate to further strengthen Croydon’s economy.

“Our SMEs are a vital part of Croydon’s economy, providing jobs and careers for many of our borough’s residents.

“Without them we wouldn’t have such a fantastic business community, one that we’re so proud of.

“Come along, network and celebrate what makes Croydon’s entrepreneurial community so great.”

Councillor Manju Shahul-Hameed, cabinet member for economy and jobs
