Team Croydon is recruiting athletes to represent the borough at Europe’s largest youth sports festival.
London Youth Games involves young people from across all 33 London boroughs competing against each other in more than 30 different events, including eight paralympic sports.
The games begin next month (November) with cross country, followed by nine months of events across London, finishing with a festival of sport at Crystal Palace National Sports Centre.
The games are open to all young people aged between seven and 18 who either live in, or study in Croydon. Those selected to represent their borough are following in the footsteps of Olympic legends such as Mo Farah, who represented his own borough in the London Youth Games.

Croydon finished sixth in the last youth games, and were last winners in 2012.

“We’re looking for all young people to apply. We perform very well in the disability category and there is something for everyone – from athletics to weightlifting.
