Following the national primary school offer day yesterday, more children will be feeling excited for September after being offered a place at one of their preferred schools in Croydon.
This year, from the 4,365 applications received, 96.5 per cent of applicants have been offered one of their top three choices with 86.5 per cent getting their first preference school – a one and a half per cent increase on last year.
Email updates were sent to parents and carers last night (19 April) and offers must be accepted or declined by 4 May. This can be done by clicking the link in the email or by visiting www.eadmissions.org.uk.
New applications for a child to join reception in September can still be submitted via www.eadmissions.org.uk.
From today, details on how places were allocated at oversubscribed Croydon schools and information about the schools with vacancies will be published on the council’s website.
Debbie Jones, Croydon Council’s executive director, children families and education said: “Starting primary school is such an important time for children and we’re so pleased that so many applicants received one of their preferred choices.
“Croydon is home to many wonderful schools and I would like to thank them, and our education team, for all their work to support parents and carers through the admission process.”
