Residents are being reminded to use their new bins after the old schedule’s final round of rubbish collections which take place from Monday, August 20 until Friday 31 August.
Households should start using their new bins for the new service which starts on Monday 3 September with 75% of households receiving a new collection day.
Currently Croydon residents recycle 38% of all waste but 73% could be recycled. The new service will now allow residents to recycle batteries with their usual waste collections.
Nearly all of the 200,000 new bins have been delivered but some areas and properties including converted flats are still awaiting delivery.

Once the new collections have begun unwanted boxes no longer needed for recycling left in your front garden will be collected. More information on this collection will be available in September.
