Spring into action with Easter holiday activities

The Easter holidays are almost here and the council and its partner organisations are offering free activity sessions for children and young people.

The council has put together a list of holiday clubs that provide free activities and healthy food for children and young people who receive free school meals, as part of the government’s Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) programme.

The HAF programme is funded by the Department of Education and aims to encourage young people to lead healthier and more active lifestyles during the holidays. Children and young people who are eligible for free school meals can access the clubs free of charge, and a healthy meal is included. To sign up, contact the club organisers directly via the list on this page.

During the Easter holidays, all children and young people in Croydon can enjoy free activities from the council’s youth engagement team. They will be running mid-week morning and afternoon activity sessions on Wednesday 13 and 20 April at the Samuel Coleridge-Taylor Centre, South Norwood, and Thursday 14 and 21 April at the Fieldway Centre, New Addington. Each day will feature a range of activities including music production and DJ-ing, dance, arts and crafts and sports. Morning sessions are for ages 8-12 years and the afternoon sessions are for young people aged 13-18 years.

Young people must be registered with the youth engagement team in order to take part in the activities. Registration is quick and easy by filling out this form.
