Winning brand announced for London Road

Residents and businesses have chosen a new brand for London Road.

Thornton Heath-based designers Future of Croydon came up with a choice of three logos for the area and asked members of the public to vote for their favourite.

More than 650 votes were cast with the winning design head and shoulders above the other two with 418 votes.

The new brand will be displayed prominently in London Road and will be part of a new website for the area, due for launch next month.

“London Road is home to a wealth of successful family businesses, and its vibrancy is clearly shown with the new branding, which is part of the major transformation works that are underway in the area.

“London Road businesses and residents are leading the way in the changing face and prosperity of Croydon.”

Director of Future of Croydon, Ashley Wyllie, said: “As Future of Croydon and as local residents we are proud to have been involved in a project that is at the start of bringing back energy and vibrancy to London Road.

“Hopefully this project will be the catalyst for change in London Road, to enhance relations within the community, bring the traders closer together and restore the family spirit, with the ultimate aim of making London Road a better place to live, work and visit.”
