Croydon Council is delivering an exciting programme of free Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) clubs this summer, helping families across the borough keep children happy, healthy and engaged over the school holidays.
With over 50 local organisations offering fun-filled sessions at more than 60 venues, there’s something for every child – whether it’s sports, creative arts, science, cooking, or exploring the outdoors. Activities are designed to be enriching, inclusive and, most importantly, enjoyable.
The government-funded HAF programme provides eligible families, those receiving benefits-related free school meals, with free access to a daily activity, a nutritious meal, and a chance to make new friends in a safe, welcoming environment.
Eligible Croydon parents and carers should look out for an email or text from HolidayActivities sent on 30 June, which includes their unique booking code. Find out more about what’s on offer and how to book on the Council website.
There are inclusive and SEND-friendly options available and families are encouraged to check programme listings or contact individual providers for more details.
Spaces are limited and must be booked in advance. Parents and carers who are unsure whether a child is eligible should speak to their school.
Some of the clubs offer paid-for places for children not on benefits-related free school meals. Parents should make enquiries directly to the club.
“The summer holidays can be challenging for parents and carers, that is why we make sure that we offer a range of high-quality, inclusive holiday clubs to support children and young people, particularly those eligible for free school meals.
“Thank you to our partner organisations for helping us to create an exciting programme of events and, most of all, the young people whose enthusiasm, creativity, and energy bring the clubs to life.”
Jason Perry, Executive Mayor of Croydon
