A fantastic programme of free entertainment gets under way in the town centre this weekend when students from the borough’s world-famous performing arts school take to the streets and public spaces.
The BRIT School has teamed up with Croydon Council and Croydon BID to bring BRIT Presents, a two-month programme of pop up performances, to the town centre once again, following the first series of shows last winter.
Throughout June and July, shoppers and visitors to Croydon will be able to enjoy a variety of performances and workshops from talented young singers, dancers, actors and musicians. From street dance workshops to musical theatre, there will be something for all ages to enjoy.
The first event takes place this Saturday, 8 June from 12.30-2.30pm in Centrale Shopping Centre, with live music performed by the school’s music students.
The following weekend, on Saturday 15 June, 12.30 – 4.30pm, the students will be contributing to the Street Live programme of outdoor summer fun. Visitors to the High Street, Croydon will be treated to dance, music and musical theatre performances, with street dance workshops for all ages.
On Thursday 20 June from 3.30 – 5.30pm, The BRIT music students will be performing live on stage at BOXPARK Croydon.
And throughout July, students from The BRIT School will be performing dance flashmobs and music around Croydon town centre.
