Can you offer a safe space to Ukrainian refugees?

More Croydon residents are needed to welcome Ukrainian families into their homes and help to support them as part of the national response to the ongoing crisis in their country.

People are being invited to find out more about providing a safe space for a family or an individual from Ukraine and the benefits they can receive on Friday 30 June, from 4pm to 6pm at The Cube, Fairfield Halls, Park Lane Croydon CR9 1DG.

Residents taking part could receive up to £500 per month thank you payments as a sponsor and will have ongoing support from Croydon Council’s friendly Homes for Ukraine team.

Those attending the event will meet residents who have experience of accommodating someone from Ukraine and the Homes for Ukraine team will be on hand to answer questions.

Anyone can contact the team for an informal chat about offering temporary or ongoing support by registering their interest on the sponsor website.

More information about the support being offered to people from Ukraine in Croydon can be found here.

“It is heart-warming to see residents in our borough opening their homes to Ukrainian refugees since the start of the conflict. We hope that more local people across the borough can offer a safe and welcoming space as Croydon continues to be part of the national effort to stand in solidarity with the Ukrainian people as the war continues.”

Jason Perry, Executive Mayor of Croydon
