Mayor Perry – Listening to Croydon

It was great to see some of Croydon’s creative community come together last weekend for the Fashion Meets Music, Reuse Recycle show as part of Croydon’s London Borough of Culture. This was also very fitting to happen during #SecondhandSeptember!

Have your say on Croydon’s Maintained Nursery Schools

This week we are calling on parents to give their views on the five council-run Maintained Nursery Schools in Croydon. We are looking at ways of making them financially sustainable as they have been facing financial challenges for some time. We want to hear from parents so we can fully understand their needs and can make an informed decision on the next steps. Please do get involved in the consultation and have your say before 17 October.

New parking strategy survey

We’re examining parking throughout the borough, to make it fairer for all road users and make the most out of road space in Croydon. We are developing a new parking strategy, which will use feedback from the community and local businesses, as well as parking data – and we would like to hear your views. The survey is now live so visit our website to take part.

Learn skills to help people you know and love

The council is offering a free course to residents interested in learning how to identify, understand, and help someone who may be experiencing a mental health issue, by becoming a mental health first aider. This is a fantastic initiative that supports our residents’ mental health and wellbeing by giving people in the community confidence, listening and communication skills. Find out more.

Dance Festival Croydon

This free dance festival, part of Croydon’s London Borough of Culture, continues this weekend with an event at the Whitgift Centre, with a folk flavour. Expect Maypoles, Celidh, Bollywood, Clogging, African, Breakdance, Fiddles, Beat Box, and family workshops. Book your ticket.

Have a good weekend.

Jason Perry, Executive Mayor of Croydon
